Sad News...We lost The Godfather
Today we lost Godfather to a coyote. I arrived on campus at 7:30 am to find feathers near the backstop. After checking out the coop I noticed a bunch of crows crowing and went to investigate. The crows were actually flying over the coyote who was standing on the railroad tracks behind the school. After further investigation, I found a portion of the fence had been cut which allowed access by the predator. So some humane cut the fence to get onto the campus which resulted in the death of the alpha male. Godfather did what he was bred for, keeping the hens safe. RIP Godfather!
